Minutes after the tickets for American band LANY shows on July 24 and 25 were sold out a few days ago, local scalpers swung into action.

The tickets, which officially cost from 1250 pesos to 5550 pesos were eventually offered on sites such as Stubhub and Viagogo at up to 28,000 pesos at press time.

LANY’s shows at the Mall of Asia Arena sold in an hour after the tickets went on sale at 12 in the afternoon.

The resale tickets appeared despite organisers MMI Live and Karpos Multimedia having warned that unlawful resale (or attempted unlawful resale) of a ticket may lead to cancellation of that ticket without refund or other compensation.

Thousands of fans queued up in different SM Ticket outlets nationwide. Many of them waited more than 6 hours to secure their chances of getting tickets when sales began at 12PM last Wednesday and Thursday.
