The Electric State Trailer Unveils a Robotic Universe on Netflix

Robots lost their freedom. Humans lost connection. An orphan, a smuggler, and a missing boy may be the key to saving everything.

The first trailer for The Electric State, a new Netflix sci-fi adventure with Chris Pratt, Millie Bobby Brown, and robots that can think and feel has been released. According to a Netflix summary, the movie, which was produced by the Russo Brothers and comes out March 14, 2025, is set in a retro-futuristic version of the 1990s and follows Brown’s character Michelle. In the clip, Keats, played by Pratt, is a drifter who goes with Michelle to the American Southwest to help her find her younger brother. See the trailer below.

Millie Bobby Brown portrays the role of Michelle, a young woman who lives in this post-apocalyptic civilization as she tries to reconnect with her missing brother through a robot. To traverse the desert and locate her brother, she enlists the aid of a smuggler called Keats (Pratt), who she meets along the way and learns the truth about his abduction.

A star-studded ensemble including Jason Alexander, Giancarlo Esposito, Ke Huy Quan, Stanley Tucci, Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, Anthony Mackie, Woody Harrelson, and Brian Cox round out the stellar group of robot voices. The Electric State is based on Simon Stålenhag’s 2018 graphic book of the same name.
