After its successful induction to the concert scene, the country’s first indoor rock festival is back. On its second year, Bazooka Rocks promises another electrifying musical experience. With the unpredictable weather in the Metro, this festival allows its attendees to eliminate any worries about getting rained on or collapsing from a heat wave.

Bazooka Rocks 2 offers an alternative to the concert fashion convention to those willing to take on the challenge. Fans normally sport band merchandise, but this year allows them to get a little more creative. Organizers have set up a theme dubbed as “the Blackout Party”, which encourages attendees to incorporate neon apparel to their attire. So to fans that want to mesh the two, why not come in neon-colored band merchandise?

From its original 11-act line up, this year kicks it up a notch to 12 bands in a span of 14 hours. The homegrown musical line up consists of Save Me Hollywood, FaintLight, Mad Hatter Day and Penguin. The remaining eight slots are dedicated to international acts such as All Time Low, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Anberlin, Tonight Alive, Uchusentai Noiz, We Came as Romans, Radio Drive By and A Rocket To The Moon (who announced their break-up earlier this year – so catch them live for one last time!).

Bazooka Rocks’ onset saw the likes of arcade booths, a giant inflatable slide, food and merchandise stalls as well as the rare opportunity to meet and greet the bands. Its “one massive pit” tagline allows concertgoers to maximize the festival. They are given the freedom to roam around the venue, visit the booths and merchandise stalls, and maybe even bump into their favorite musician. During intermission, most fans disperse the audience area, so every time an artist comes on, attendees get a chance at a good spot from the stage.

An added bonus to this year’s festival is the fast pass. Purchasing a fast pass for as low as P800 guarantees the fan a meet and greet slot with the band of their preference. What’s more, this rare moment will be captured on video, and be given to the fan after the festival.
