Ling & Orm Spread Delight at their First Fan Meeting in Manila: “Dear My Love”

Fans of the popular Thai GL (Girls’ Love) duo, “Lingling” Sirilak Kwong and “Orm” Kornnaphat Sethratanapong were treated to a night full of fan service, laughter, and love. The pair graced the Smart-Araneta Coliseum with their presence on Sunday, October 6, 2024, for their first fan meeting in Manila, “Dear My Love: Ling & Orm.”

The pair, famously known as LingOrm, starred in the Netflix series, “The Secret of Us.” Upon its premiere in June 2024, it quickly climbed Netflix’s ranks and secured the #2 spot in the Philippines.

PART ONE

After an energetic opening song performance, the girls sat for the first segment interview. When asked about the first thing they did when they landed in the Philippines, they enthusiastically talked about their experience with Jollibee. “That Jollibee [mascot] made me [impressed]!” re-called Ling, “I thought he [was] just a figure,” implying that she didn’t know he was a mascot.

When their series, “The Secret of Us” was brought up, they answered that they were excited when they filmed their first GL series. Ling complimented Orm by saying, “It’s good because she’s (Orm) always supporting me. All of the [filming] process was good,” rousing applause from their fans. “We have been to a lot of workshops, so I think that made us closer, and it made the acting natural,” Orm added.

Fans were also given a peek at some behind-the-scenes memories during the filming of their series including their eating habits on set and how Orm always snuck some sleep whenever there was chance.

Due to the success of their first series, they already have a next project lined up, which is “Only You,” an action-packed love story series. Ling plays Tawan, a bodyguard tasked with protecting Ira, a rising idol portrayed by Orm. Fans in the crowd expressed their deep excitement as the duo talked about how excited they were for this next project.

After the interview, they played a short game, copying the poses of the movie posters that were flashed on the screen including Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Knight & Day, and their very own poster for Only You.

PART TWO

Lingling started the second part of the fan meeting by serenading the fans with her cover of Carpenters’ Yesterday Once More. Orm followed next with her energetic version of Taylor Swift’s Blank Space.

And a fan meeting wouldn’t be complete without a direct interaction with the fans. For this segment, “Secret Genius,” they picked two people from the audience to play and team up with Ling and Orm for a “Pinoy Henyo” type of game where the team had to guess as many words (related to The Secret of Us series) as they can to win. When the losing team, Team Ling had to do the punishment, Orm decided it would be for Ling to kiss Orm’s head which Ling easily obliged, no sweat.

The highlight of the night was the “Secret Theater” segment where the duo had to re-enact scenes from the series that were chosen by the audience. These scenes are all the intimate and sweet parts of the series. Ling and Orm did all four of the scenes with so much ardor. The first one was the scene where they first met after their break up. The second was the proposal scene where Ling had a real bouquet as a prop, and the third one which garnered such uproar from the fans was where Orm had to teasingly take a bite of the cookie in Ling’s mouth. The last one was the iconic hugging scene from the “Only You” trailer.

The love Ling and Orm radiated to their fans was reciprocated when they sat down to watch a surprise video prepared by the fans. Both were very touched. “The best thing for me is that we could inspire all of you. We hope that we can be your positive energy. When you’re down, we’re glad that we could help you from that, and I hope that we can stay together forever!” commented Orm.

The event ended on a high note where MVP, VIP, and some of the Patron and Lower Box A ticket holders had a chance to take group photos with LingOrm. MVP and VIP ticket holders were also treated to a Hi-Bye event after the photo op.

This successful event, the “Dear my Love: Ling & Orm 1st Fan Meeting in Manila” was organized and presented by S9T and CDM Entertainment Philippines.
