Manila’s Lovestruck Moments with Ji Chang Wook

Ji Chang Wook is no stranger to the Philippine shores. Two years after his first fan meeting “Reach You” with BENCH, he is back.

The Global BENCH Setter held his second BENCH fan meeting at the Araneta Coliseum on August 4. The fan meet began with Ji Chang Wook serenading the crowd with a song and the fans giving him a warm welcome by shouting I love you in three languages: English, Filipino, and Korean.

After watching the behind-the-scenes of his latest BENCH photoshoot, he shared that he missed everything about his Filipino fans.

There are also a lot of projects that we can look forward to seeing him in: the movie Revolver, a special guest appearance in the K-Drama Queen Woo, and the K-Drama Gangnam B-side.

He also shared that next month he will start filming for another K-Drama called, “Sculpture City”

The Healer Gives Advice to Fans

In the segment “Healer”, Ji Chang Wook got to talk to a few lucky fans.

The fans shared their stories in relation to his previous K-Dramas and sought advice such as how to relax when shy around new people.

He listened intently and gave advice such as being oneself and finding people who love you.

Welcome to the Philippines

For this part of the show, the camera would pan to different sections: lower box, VIP, SVIP, and choose someone to focus on. The fan would then complete a heart with Ji Chang Wook while he would say Filipino phrases such as “gusto kita” or “bagay tayo.”

If You Wish Upon Me

Ji Chang Wook granted the wishes of 10 fans in this segment. Before the show, people could write down their wishes and post them on the poster board. He was very generous with granting wishes from going down to take photos with fans to serenading them with a song.

Rookie vs Pro

This was one of the night’s highlights where lucky fans got to reenact scenes from Ji Chang Wook’s K-Dramas. From the wedding scene of Lovestruck in the City to the hug scene from Welcome to Samdalri.

After the interactive segments, a fan video was shown and the crowd serenaded Ji Chang Wook with his favorite song called “Laundry.” The actor then gave his message to the Philippine crowd saying it was a fun time and he gained a lot of strength. He also mentioned that he would love to come back to the Philippines again. “I really love you guys and thank you so much.”

It was a night full of kilig, fun and unforgettable moments with Ji Chang Wook.

Thank you to BENCH for this fan meeting experience!
