One Fine Night with James Ingram
Your face is beaming – That was the exact phrase to describe how I felt when I received the message that I’ll be watching the Multi-awarded singer-songwriter James Ingram. I had this feeling of him serenading me since I’ve known his music.
The show was opened by retro band Route 70, Mark Mabasa and the Asia’s Nightingale. It was my first time to hear Route 70 and I liked how they grace the crowd with their own take of OPM. My favorite part of the set of Mark Mabasa was when he did a mash up of John Legends “All of me” and Ed Sheerans “Thinking out loud”. Same thing goes with Ms. Lani Misalucha, I never thought how good she was. I was moved by angels in heaven with her voice.
James Ingram opened the show with “One hundred ways” followed by his fan favorite songs. The concert of three-time Grammy Award winner James Ingram won’t be complete without him singing his Grammy Award-winning song, “Just Once”.
Fans of his music of any age experienced the first-hand grooviness of his voice and songs. If only we are allowed to dance at the venue that was full of tables then maybe we did. I was surprised that at his age, his vocal powers were still so clear and clean. It only shows that he is gifted with the perfect vocal pipes and can sing any type of music.
I always like the positive feeling that the song “Somewhere out there” gives me. Let me quote a line “and even though I know how very far apart we are, It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star”. The song give hopes to the people whose away from the people they love.
The 2 best songs of the night was of course the fan favorite and ultimate videoke hit “Just Once” and an ultimate audition piece “I believe I can fly”, which he sang both with the crowd.
It was truly a one of a kind experience to see and hear James Ingram perform live. Thank you for your music sir James Ingram.
