The Sarah G Experience
Flashback 2003 when it all started, who would have thought that it was decade ago? A decade of maturity, strength and who she is right now as a performer. 10 years ago before this has all began, 10 years in the industry that she ever dreamed of from Music to Movies, 10 years making her the undisputed pop star of the country and this day is a celebration of a decade fairy-tale journey to her most deserved FAME.
The show started with prayers for the victims and survivor of typhoon Yolanda.
Fil-Am Jason Farol warmed up the crowd, the 24 year old, 6’1″ tall power balladeer placed 3rd in the reality singing show “Duets” where he was paired with American Idol Kelly Clarkson. He is now also a signed artist of Viva Records, he showcase his charm as a balladeer singing songs from his album such as “I believe in love again”, “Kung ikaw at ako”, and “When the love is gone”.
Chants started and excitement is something perceptible around the sold-out crowd of Araneta Coliseum. Sarah opened the stage singing her rendition of Alicia Keys “Brand New Me”, Will.i.am ft. Justin Bieber “that POWER”, and Imagine Dragons “Radioactive”. She also intone some of her songs from her previous albums like “Ikaw”, “Sa Iyo”. Embracing the challenge for her 10th year she sang latest single “Tayo”, fan favorite “Ikot Ikot”, telling a story from the libretto of “Sweetest mistake”, and a statement of “some things can be change and some cannot” from the lyrics of “Eyes on fire” all from her new album entitled Expressions.
Since this is a look back from where it all started, Sarah also sang songs from her previous albums like her famous “How could you say you love me”, songs from her idol Celine Dion “It’s all coming back to me now”, and the song who brought her to fame “To love you more” her winning piece from singing competition “Star For A Night” to where then on, she has captured our hearts with her massive and undisputable gift of charm and music.
Sarah was joined on stage by none other than her co-champions Mark Bautista, Christian Bautista and Rachelle Ann Go. They showcased Justin Timberlake’s “Take Back the Night”, Daft Punk “Get Lucky”, and Bruno Mars “Treasure”.
Sarah also staged Radiohead’s “Creep”, to where whatever doubts one had before the song started quickly disappeared, she nailed the song beyond monumental. She also took the time to thank her ‘haters’ by saying, “To all my haters, I love you. Thank you for loving me in a different kind of way.” Still humbling herself to her critics. She also stand her right as a Filipino singing Basil Valdez’s “Sino ang tunay na Baliw” synchronize with her video when she was asked to sing to a prayer rally when she was 4 laughing herself to her own statement of “itigil ang corrupt”. She also performed to the victims of typhoon yolanda by singing her heart out to a very inspirational “Light of million mornings” with a clip from the affected areas in visayas, this is the part where most of the crowd was caught up teary eyed. Leaving her audience in an awe, Sarah together with Ms. Regine Velasquez smash Bruno Mars songs “It will rain” and “when I was your man” shattering part of the production, she welcomed Ms. Lea Salonga singing Wicked’s “ For good” and “Defying gravity”. But that’s not it, Sarah also had the opportunity to share the stage with the queens Ms. Regine Velasquez and Ms. Lea Salonga to give the audience a very, very remarkable treat singing not 1 not 2 but 5 Barbara Streisand songs like “ People”, “Memory”, “Papa can you hear me”, “Tell him”, and “Somewhere”. This epic production got a most deserved standing ovation.
Sarah tune her own composition of “Make me yours”. She also mount songs from one of her musical idol who influenced her like Shirley Bassey’s “The Greatest Performance Of My Life” and “This is my life” where she promised to give her greatest performance every time.
Just when everybody thought the show ended with her singing “Forever is not enough”. Sarah ended her Perfect 10 with a full dance production with Michael Jackson, Beyonce and Madonna beats giving everybody a world-class show.
